Big thanks to the midiphy LoopA community for providing many improvement ideas! The new firmware version 2.11 is all about a better workflow: we implemented a total of fifteen user requests, improved the setup and session configuration screens and also added a powerful, creative multi-stage arpeggiator engine.
New Features:
Added new arpeggiator engine with eight session-based and configurable arpeggiator patterns. Per pattern: 16 configurable note steps (including rest), up-to four octave range with various directions (including random) and configurable repeat, decay and note length options.
Improved setup and session screens - now with categories for better overview - scroll through categories by using the top-left (SCENE) encoder.
Customized live transpose: allows to configure session-based live-transpose intervals for the +7/-7 live transpose states. Also added a preset loader for interesting interval types (i.e. chromatic/fourths/fifths…) (Thanks, Menzman!)
Added better live transposition controls: manual control via footswitches, or remote controlled via MIDI CC messages (Thanks, Schematicwizard!)
Added a new setup option to disable BPM adjustments on session load, when the sequencer engine is running, making session/song transitions smoother (Thanks, Timo!)
Added new footswitch commands: increase/decrease cursor position during step recording via footswitch (Thanks, Ewen!)
Added new setup option "Play Note Under Cursor": when enabled, in step-editing-mode with the sequencer not running and when moving the step cursor, preview the existing note(s) under the cursor by playing them back (thanks, Schematicwizard!)
Added a new footswitch command: trigger autoloop recording with the first press and commit recording via the second press (Thanks, Andras and Sushi!)
Added a new setup option: when enabled, note lengths are scaled in parallel with clip zoom values (Thanks, Andras!)
Added a new setup option, where the LiveFX note probability mode depends on the recorded note volume - silent notes are more likely to be muted, but you can still configure the threshold via the probability value on the LiveFX page (Thanks, Timo!)
Added a new setup option, where Mute/Unmute on the SHIFT screen is instantaneous (unchanged synced behaviour on the MUTE screen) (Thanks, Timo)
Added a new setup option which allows to configure MIDI port and channel for ProgramChange MIDI messages LoopA should receive - until now they were treated as omni messages allowed on all ports. Now, if any other system sends PC messages that are not intended for LoopA, these can be filtered. (Thanks, Schematicwizard!)
Added a new command shortcut: duplicate the current scene into the next scene by pressing SHIFT + SCENE encoder knob. This allows you to add things, elaborate on the recorded parts and quickly go back to the previous state. Warning: no UNDO for this operation! (Thanks, Timo!)
New autoloop length fitting option: added 3/6/12 measures fitting scheme (in addition to powers of 2)... (Thanks, Antoine!)
Added individual per-track scene-selection CC command targets (Thanks, Lytrix!)
Added Force-To-Scale note replacement preset patterns: alter your melodies by enabling FTS and by loading one of the dozens of note replacement presets provided by Robert - now available on the new session screen. (Thanks, Robert!)
Added new footswitch "Hold Notes" command: very useful to play the arpeggiator in live mode or to record extensive chords. As long as the "Hold Notes" footswitch is pressed, all MIDI note off messages will be collected - and only upon footswitch release the collected "Note Off" messages will be played/forwarded/recorded. (Thanks, Menzman!)
We're also excited to offer a limited-time price reduction on all our kits, including the big MatriX! While this special pricing won't last long, there's no need to worry if stock runs out. We've already placed our next order to ensure everyone gets their hands on one.
