Firmware updates

This page provides firmware updates for all midiphy phybus eurorack modules. The firmware bundle contains the latest versions for all supported modules including zetaSID and nexusMIDI.

You can update a single module or automatically update all modules on your phybus network from any zetaSID.
Download

Download the latest firmware bundle below. The .zip file contains firmware for all phybus modules.
midiphy modular firmware (version 12, 2026/02/18)
midiphy-modular-r0012.zip (274.99K)

Preparing the SD card

1. Format a microSD card as FAT32 filesystem (or use an existing FAT32 card)
2. Download the firmware bundle .zip file from above
3. If updating from a previous version, delete the existing /firmware directory on the SD card
4. Unpack the firmware bundle .zip file into the root directory of the microSD card
5. Verify the card now contains a /firmware directory with firmware files for all modules
6. Insert the microSD card into your zeta module
Updating a single module

1. With the microSD card inserted, power up the module while holding down the key to enter bootloader mode
2. Choose Flash App
3. Select the appropriate firmware file for your module
4. Press the key to start the update procedure
5. Wait for the update to complete — the module will reboot automatically

Updating all modules automatically

You can update all modules on your phybus network at once from any zeta module:

1. Enter bootloader mode as described above
2. Choose Update All
3. Browse the list of detected modules showing current and available firmware versions
4. Choose Proceed to start the automatic mass update process
5. Each module will be updated and rebooted in turn
6. The local module will be updated last (if applicable)
7. Larger phybus networks may require around five minutes to complete

Red LEDomes indicate that the flash process is in progress. All modules will reboot automatically after flashing.
Important safety notes

During an ongoing flash process:

Do not remove the power supply

Do not remove the microSD card

Do not disconnect any phybus cables

Wait for the process to complete fully before making any changes. Interrupting the update process may leave your module in an unusable state; in this case it is always possible to restart the module to the bootloader (by pressing the key on power-up) and re-flash from there.
